We are honored to have the opportunity to interview Denise Coghlan, the Director of the Jesuit Refugee Center for the Unique Leader Project.  A woman who has dedicated her entire life to helping the victims of war in Cambodia, by fighting against the proliferation of landmines and providing food, medicine and shelter for those affected.

Her dedication began in the midst of the Cambodian war,  creating a refugee camp whilst bombs were dropping around her and the people she sought to protect.  She had to choose between safety or being even more active in her mission. She chose the later, with an incredible amount of courage and a simple but powerful vision - to save lives and to provide opportunities.

Denise later became part of the team working with activist Jody Williams to outlaw landmines and for this work they received a Nobel Peace Price in 1997.  This recognition has helped Denise boost her cause until this day.

Her leadership is an example of great sacrifice, faith and persistence.
