Dr. Durell Cooper

Durell Cooper, Ed.D. is a prominent Cultural Strategist specializing in systems change and collaborative thought leadership, who is passionate about forging new ways to contribute to the dialogue about diversity, equity, inclusion and access to the arts.

He has 15+ years experience in the arts and education including Program Officer at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts conducting outreach to veteran service organizations, recruiting and training teaching artists, and, involved in several community engagement initiatives aimed at increasing equity and inclusion in NYC public schools.

He is the Founder & CEO of Cultural Innovation Group, LLC and an adjunct lecturer at The City College of New York.

Durell is based in New York. MA Education from New York University (NYU), graduate of IPAL at Stanford University and currently Doctor in Education at NYU. His field of study was in Educational Theatre and his dissertation was on Hip Hop education in the arts.
